How to Clear Cache History from the Remote Desktop Client (mstsc)
When using Microsoft’s “Remote Desktop Client”, windows will store the history of the previous sessions. This might be fine for your home computer; however, it might become an issue for network shared.
To clear the cache follow these instructions:
- Make sure that “view hidden files and folders” is enabled.
Adjust the settings to display hidden files by going to (Tools>Folder Options>View Tab>check Show hidden files and folders)
- Navigate to the user’s “My Documents” folder.
- Find the Default.rdp file and delete it.
- Restart the Remote Desktop Client.
